  • Abstract:
A comprehensive evaluation of thermal comfort for naturally ventilated (NV) public housing in Singapore was undertaken. The findings show that people are more thermally comfortable compared with current predicted mean vote (PMV). From the statistical analysis, some discrepancies were observed amongst responses for thermal comfort, preference, and acceptability. Under hot and humid tropical climate, a cooler environment was found to be preferable as compared with what the neutral temperature indicated. The survey also studied the occupant's adaptive control preferences when they need to modify their living environment to make it more thermally comfortable.
