- Abstract:
The dissertation explores how managers implement changes necessary for environmental sustainability practices within an organization necessary to meet new regulations established by government agencies. These progressive changes have increased in frequency and need appropriate management to become compliant as a business and as the responsible party managing construction projects (Gould & Joyce, 2009). The research investigated how managers use their leadership skills to make transformation a positive experience for personnel to achieve desired results. For organizations to become environmentally and socially sustainable, the change must continue as a new fundamental element that transforms their business practices to eliminate all negative impacts on the environment. Government agencies have set timeframe goals for organizations to implement progressive changes needed to increase sustainability practices that comply with the new and updated regulations. The methodology used in the data collection semi-structured interviews. The interviews were audio recorded and analyzed. Four themes were uncovered through data analysis, including communication, leadership, teamwork, and tools. The findings from this study are useful for implementing changes for sustainability through organizational change.
